Palmistry

Centuries ago, the sages of India established a system of knowledge stemming from the Vedas, the earliest sacred Hindu writings. They studied the hands as a means to unveil and understand the self and relationships with others. They saw that the unique patterns of lines and signs in the hand come into being as a direct result of the way we think. Just as a pebble thrown into the water creates ripples, so our thoughts create similar effects.

Throughout our lifetime, our bodies register change. For example, the lines on our face that we acquire with age reflect experience and, we hope, wisdom. Lines and signs on our hands, present at birth, grow as we evolve, signifying the accumulated experience of our lives.

The sages of India observed over time that specific physical features of the hands alter in response to changes in our physiological, intellectual and emotional makeup.

Our hands offer us an objective view of who we really are. Through the study of palmistry, we have the opportunity to see to what extent our thoughts and feelings influence our happiness and the harmony of those around us. As we exercise our will in choosing positive patterns of thinking to replace any negative ones, we see our lines begin to change, reflecting a shift in our consciousness. As Shakespeare observed, we are masters of our own fate, that "the fault...is not in our stars, but in ourselves."

Hands say a lot about your personality. Each person has a unique hand. This is because lines on every hand are caused by the experiences one gathers during the course of one's life. Palmistry believes that each part of the body reflects both mental and physical states of being. According to one theory, the left hand shows the past, and the right the future. Some say the left hand shows the potential, while the right hand shows the realized personality. Most people read the right hand.
PALMISTRY IS ALSO CALLED "CHEIROMANCY " OR "CHEIROGONOMY ". iT IS THE STUDY OF PALMS, MOUNDS, FINGERS, SHAPE OF HAND & LINES.

Dermatoglyphics
Dermatoglyphics is the study of the skin ridges in our hands. The word is made up of two parts -- "derma" meaning skin and "glyphs" meaning carving. When we talk about Dermatoglyphs we are mainly concerned with the fingerprints, though on some hands there are glyphs to be found on the palm itself.Your fingerprints are fully formed 16 weeks after conception, a full 5 months before you enter the world, and they will never change.

Whorl
People with many whorls on their hands like to be in charge. They are often deep thinkers and may be dogmatic in their viewpoints. The whorl can be associated with the element of Fire.

Loop
This is the most common fingerprint. It denotes flexibility and a dislike for routine. Subjects with many loops may display an emotional nature. The loop can be associated with the element of Water.

Arch
Arches on the fingertips can indicate someone who has trouble expressing their emotions. The owner of these fingerprints can be practical in nature and may find change to be unwelcome. The arch can be associated with the element of Earth.
